Alpine rock climbing combines so many different skillsets. We are excited to dial you in!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
This is for people who consider themselves rock climbers and want to scale high peaks via rock ridges and faces.
To be successful at this course you need to be able to carry a 40-50 lbs in your backpack while maintaining 1000 vertical feet an hour of elevation gain. You need to have the mental fortitude and fitness for a 12 hour summit day.
You need to be familiar with basic rock climbing. Being a lead climber previously is preferred and you will get the most from the course.
You will learn advanced rock climbing movement, managing low 5th and 4th class terrain safely, crevasse rescue, rock rescue, traditional anchors, obscure anchors, building bail anchors, judging existing anchors and many more.
This will prepare you to climb the rock ridges and faces that are in the alpine or have a glaciated approach. This is a perfect course if you want to climb in places like the Alps, Washington, or Canada.
