OVERVIEW
Are you seeking to get into the mountains? This course is designed for anyone looking to gain the necessary skills to climb the glaciated peaks around the world. During this program we will cover everything from navigation, glacier travel and crevasse rescue. On the course we will attempt the summit of Mt. Baker. Join us and become a realiable climbing partner for your team.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Have you ever stared out at Mt. Rainier, or dreamed of standing on top of a snowy peak? Did you climb a peak with your friends and realize there is a lot to learn? This course is for you.
To be successful at this climb you need to be able to carry a 40-50 lbs in your backpack while maintaining 1000 vertical feet an hour of elevation gain.
No technical climbing experience is neccessary.
During this course you will learn self arrest, walking in crampons, gear and its use, efficient movement in the mountains, ice climbing technique, snow climbing technique, knots, snow anchors, crevasse rescue, and many more.
This will prepare you for climbs like Mt. Rainier, Mt. Shuksan, Mt. Blanc, and many other glaciated climbs around the world.
