PRofessional Mountain Guides
Who are we?
Professional Mountain Guides was born in 2019. While we run trips to the far reaches of the world, our roots are in the Cascades. Our mission is to provide unparalleled customizable experiences to our guests. We will achieve this by taking the American guide industry to the next chapter. When booking with PMG you can rest assured our staff around the world is being well taken care of. This will enable them to provide you with the best possible experience.

The guide promise
During a trip to the mountains, your guide is responsible for your safety. That is a big undertaking that requires years of dedication and training to achieve. Our guides are all Certified by the American Mountain Guides Association and are working within their scope of practice. In order to achieve certification your guide goes through medical training courses, avalanche courses, and finally, technical climbing and rescue courses.
Our guides have been examined at all levels. Here at PMG, we believe those guides should be well compensated and full-time guides should receive health insurance and benefits. This seems like a no-brainer; however, this is not the industry standard and we aim to change that. Our belief is that a successful guide will lead to your successful trip.
Sustainability and Humanitarian work
At Professional Mountain Guides we believe in taking care of the places and people around the world. We pledge 1% for the planet of our annual income. Our employees are all members of Protect our Winters. Currently PMG sponsors 1 child per employee in the places we recreate around the world.
The current children we are sponsoring live in Nepal. As a result of this sponsorship, they are able to attend private boarding school and has increased their and their families overall standard of living. We have worked very hard to increase the wages and benefits for our partners overseas.
We work closely with our non-profit partner Peaks of Life, offering many fundraising trips around the world. We believe that taking care of the planet and people will let us continue to enjoy these wild places for generations to come. Our most current fundraising project is building a hospital in remote Pangom, Nepal.
